Wedding Checklist

With the wedding quickly approaching I decided to reference a “wedding checklist” to ensure nothing was being overlooked…BIG mistake.

Dress – check

Venue – check

Photographer – check

Florist– check

DJ – check

Lighting – check

Officiant – check

Calligrapher – check

Invitations – check

Cake – check

Wedding bands – NOT check (these are just a small detail…)

Huge stress knot named Harry in between shoulders – check

Favors – check (but they need to be assembled)

Brain – NOT check

Aisle runner – NOT check

Guest book – NOT check

Ring pillow – NOT check

Rehearsal dinner arrangements – NOT check

You get the point... We have quite a few things done but it seems that every time we get one thing done it just adds more to the list. We are excited for November and can’t wait to see everyone!

Officially Kicked Out of the Nest

As most/all of you know I am an only child and with this come the privilege of my parents letting me slide by on a few things. Over the past 3 three weeks there have been many events that made me realize my parents are officially kicking me out of the nest.
1) My dad informed me that my Jeep needs new tires. My response was, “Ok, dad, when would you like for me to bring you the jeep so I get new tires.” His response, “Discount Tire will usually run an ad in the Sunday paper…”
2) “Robin, you car insurance will expire on April 29th. Here is the number to call if you would like to take out another plan with our insurance company or you can choose to use the same insurance Ken has.”
3) “Now that you and Ken have bought a house you need to get your engagement ring insured under you own home owner’s policy.” Really? They couldn’t have let this one slide for at least one more year….
4) This is the biggest one of all, Ken and I show up at my parents’ house for Mother’s Day only to find the hallway full of boxes and every dress, formal, costume and more that I have ever worn laying out ready for me to take.

Things I have learned form this experience:
1) Just because dad says you need new tires you can still drive on them until the oil change guy recommends you get new tires.
2) Fiancés come in right where dad leaves off with car and home owner’s insurance.
3) I will never let my child keep as much crap as my parents let me keep.

Save the Date

We are so excited to share our special day with our family and friends. We hope to keep this blog updated with all wedding information that you need to know.

We have been keeping ourselves very busy the past two months and not with wedding stuff (gasp!) We bought a house in Frisco Texas and moved in late March. We have all settled in quite well and are getting very used to all the extra space. If you are ever in Frisco and need a place to stay give us a call.

Shopping Extravaganza! a.k.a. Registry

Well, you all know how much I love to shop but after walking around 4 different stores for hours I have decided that Ken likes to shop just a little bit more than I do. We went to register for the wedding the other weekend and after just 2 stores and 4 hours I was completely wiped out. Ken on the other hand was still going strong, I personally think it is because he got to hold the scan gun… I must pre-warn all the future Mrs. out there (and I wish someone would have warned me) that your man will want to scan everything in the store just to hear the beep. We walked out of Bed Bath and Beyond with Mighty Putty, a Magic Bullet and a Jack Delane Juicer on our registry.

Being the shopaholics that we are Ken and I did a lot of searching to find the best prices and deals. Check out what we found:
